Distress

wrap your arms around me
calm my internal raging sea
block out what lies ahead
as my voice is dead

sinking into the deep
eyelids locked not to weep
nails digging into the palm
imprisoned soul in a merciless realm

Flat

lost hold of that rope
sliding on my butt down the slope
feel every rock tearing my trousers
and glittering snowflakes scatters
ending up in a bundle of pain
lying on the cold ice
hurt legs unwilling to rise

4/1-10

Life's Slippery Slope

on the slippery slope...
slithery soap
on the slippery slope...
how do you cope?
on the slippery slope...
need a safety rope
on the slippery slope...
hold onto hope

The Boy

to really see him is to know him
with eyes sharper than the eagle's
to really hear him is to show him
with ears like of many dogs
to really hold him is to touch his mind
with fingertips on hidden neurones
to really love him is to search his heart
with your warm river in a beating drum

12/1-10

The whiteness of it all

falling down from the pinkish sky
like light feathers they fly
first a thin layer of white and cold
then a coating of quilts and pillows to behold
the glittering miracle of the silver flake
as the sun shines at daybreak
chilly winds and snow dancing in a swirl
time for joy to embrace both boy and girl
throwing snowballs at your friend
all soaked and freezing in the end
smiling faces drinking hot chocolate
never mind that they are totally wet
going inside to warm up their small stiff toes
cuddle up in blankets on the couch... and outside... it still snows

I feel you

as the sadness washes over you with force
fog rolls in to cover your ocean blue shiny eyes
your voice weakens in a broken melody of tears
then my hearts sinks to the depth of the sea
contracts into a bundle of smothered love
my eyelids loses their strength as they close
drops of salty water wanders down my face
the inside of my chest feels your pain in static mode

as you smile with lips pretty and pinkish red
your pupils changes to show the moment of joy
and your tongue speaks a language of magic in glory
then my soul sings a duet with yours
l stretch out my arms to embrace time
giggles and laughter sugar coats our world
suddenly the birds are singing just for us
our ears soothed and lungs breathing freely

30/1-10

do you…?

do you know what it is like to lose your own child
do you know how it makes a heart run wild
do you feel the pain of a tormented soul
do you feel the weakness as you miss the goal
do you see the past as if it was yesterday
do you see the new days through tears ready to stay
do you hear the sound of your own mind signalling distress
do you hear the voice of your beloved little man in sadness
do you reach out your hand to touch the truth so cruel
do you reach for answers to let love rule
do you read between the lines to seek it all
do you read to receive strength not to fall
do you sit with a deep wound bleeding inside
do you sit in love and faith awaiting a landslide

Vivid numbness

with an aching heart
this day did start
silence and screams
internal dreams
love of a son
no rerun

28/2-10

Not alone… dear friend…

you crawl with bleeding knees
leaving stains of blood on the ground
I carefully follow your tracks
along side with you I turn my head
eyes meet eyes in sadness
teardrops down our faces
hand reaches hand
together we seek in mutual understanding

3/3-10

Cry me to sleep

why won't you give me your tears
along with all your fears
let me hold them for you
until the night is through
dry your face from drowning
erase your mouth's frowning
embrace your soul completely
as you drift away in dreams to meet me

6/3-10

Soothe

when tears comes down your face
and life is like the darkest maze
then please know my hand is yours
together we will find the sea shores
the sun will reach the weary heart
as the morning light does its part

22/3-10

The Taste of Nothingness

my tears they come... my tears they go
heart's anxiety continues to grow
I have been thrown into pain
no point to complain
have been sucked out and drained from head to toe
left with the dirty faded light from my window
my hands are tied behind my back
no fingers to seek the way through the black
hit me or block me out
makes no difference to this silent shout
emotions camouflaged in numbness
eating me up with furious eagerness
let go of my hand will you please
can't find the relief in peace
I am better left alone
accompanied by my smothered moan

27/3-10

Bottomless Waters

paralyzed
sinking sinking
down down
into the deep
no air
total despair
eyes closing
lungs collapsing
heavy
no ending
descending
down
down
pressure high
resistance low
down I go
down
down
down

26/4-10

Lost

now it is hitting oh so hard
emotions impossible to discard
feeling this untouchable loneliness
mixed with the roughness of stress
please I need you to hold me tightly
wrap your arms around me lovingly

I do not know how to lead this new life
it cuts through me like the sharpest knife
changes filling the hours dawn to dusk
mercilessly eroding my safety husk
dried out and thirsty for relief
I slowly drown in my own grief

19/5-10

Clearly through the fog

feelings... sensations
verbal exclamations
love inside a bubble
avoiding trouble
feeding day and night
still out of sight
please walk with me
our love to see

30/5-10

My kite

high
fly high my kite!
wind
gently carry the fragile!
line
hold on tight!
free
rising into the blue
run
legs in forward motion
walk
strolling along
look
see Earth from up above
feel
embrace the rays of sun
together
yet apart
connection
a bond of love
lightning
thunder to scare
rescue
I haul you in
safe
now rest until you fly again

31/5-10

One summer morning

morning walk in the woods on our own
me, my dog and mobile phone
to detect the splendour of nature
in its summertime feature
capture the beauty beyond compare
bring with me pictures to share
green, orange, yellow and blue
colours of magnificence true
creation pleasing
as much as teasing
feeding the eyes on this noble feast
astonishment and humbleness to say the least
the morning fresh carpet of dew
makes everything look brand new
clear blue sky with gently smeared out white clouds
ants working with undying eagerness in large crowds
birds singing their tunes louder and louder
greeting the dawn prouder and prouder
eternal love from an outstanding creator
blessed are the spectator

9/6-10

I will…

through the fire burning holes in the wooden frames of time
I will carry you to safety
through the raging storms erasing the calmness out to sea
I will swim with you to find dry land
through the doubts of a mind in turmoil broken into pieces
I will show you the light hidden in the fog
through the night of dreams tormenting every corner of your soul
I will sleep beside you and hold you close
through the laughter and giggles coming from your smiling face
I will feel the freedom cover our existence in togetherness
through the rays of sun your beauty embraces my mind
I will whisper into your ear the words of love
through the black and white - dark and bright
I will walk by your side in loyalty

10/6-10

New day

a new day
the sun is out
birds are singing
music swinging

a new day
please pass quickly
cause I feel sickly
thoughts flying
my soul is dying

19/6-10

Intense pondering

who are you?
who am I?
I sit and wonder why?
you are there
I am here
still inside the same atmosphere
hit me hard!
wake me up!
lost in confusion
this is my resolution
take me home tonight!...
to feel love in all its might

19/6-10

Little bird

a wooden bench
tired feet on a gravel path
meets a tiny bird on a stroll
new to this world it knows no fear
picking on the ground in peace
the human eye views this scene
as a smile spreads all over the face
a refreshed soul continues her day

20/6-10

Bodily

my heart is screaming
aching and whimpering
my mind is bleeding
leaking and drowning
my arms are weighing
numbed and dangling
my legs are sleeping
tired and dull
my feet are searching
seeking and groping
my fingers touching
slowly and carefully
my eyes are crying
burning and quenching
my ears are deafened
wounded and worn
my body is alive
struggling and suffering

26/6-10 translated from Swedish

Even if...

Even if you can not see the light, that does not mean there is no light
Even if your heart is broken, it does not mean it is forever broken
Even if you feel lost in life, it does not mean that life is not there to find you
Even if your mind is spinning around, it does not mean it will never find peace
Even if you do not feel like speaking, that does not mean we can not hear you
Even if you feel like letting go, that does not mean we will let you
Even if you in your darkest hour feel out of hope, that does not mean we have given up on you
Even if you do not believe in yourself, that does not mean we have lost our faith in you

A few words about the poetry on this site...

A lot of my poems are dark and sad... but if you continue reading you'll find those happy and bright as well. I write what I feel in my heart - actually - my entire creation. I also write about: nature, objects, events etc.

To me writing is seeing what is 'hidden in the open' and revealing emotions through words.

Our son is living under the extra pressure that comes with having Asperger's syndrome as well as dealing with impulse control difficulties. I also have Asperger's syndrome along with OCD. The constant fight to give our son what he needs and at the very same time let our daughter know that she is loved has led me to write to process the daily life of our family.

I hope that my writings will give you something to think about and maybe give some inspiration to begin writing poetry or to continue.

Please feel free to share your own poems in the 'Poetry Forum' of this site!
